At DKNY’s 20th anniversary show on Sunday, there were several family moments of sorts. While photographers were pushing to get a shot of young mom Nicole Richie, Winona Ryder was chatting up a storm with Christina Ricci, who portrayed her sister in the 1990 hit movie “Mermaids.”
DKNY’s once-married iconic models Esther Canadas and Mark Vanderloo also reunited for the occasion — though only as guests and not down the runway this time. While both admitted they didn’t really miss the runway frenzy, Canadas had a moment of nostalgia. “I miss Patti [Cohen] and Donna,” the model, who is relocating to New York from Spain, admitted.
Of course, no family gathering would be complete without the ubiquitous black sheep. At the show, NYC Animal Rights made a surprise appearance, with protesters jumping in front of the photographers’ pit at the show’s finale. They were quickly ushered out, but still left some observers wondering if they’re barking up the wrong tree. Karan isn’t exactly known for her use of fur.

I just found new pictures from Paris FW, including the Valentino Dinner.
Valentino Show during Paris Fashion Week
Films featuring Winona Ryder, Nick Nolte, Anjelica Huston and Paul Giamatti will be among those competing for top honors at the Sundance Film Festival.
The lineup announced Tuesday for Sundance, the main U.S. showcase for independent film, also included documentaries on writer Hunter S. Thompson, musician Patti Smith and filmmakers Roman Polanski and Derek Jarman.
Taking place Jan. 17-27 in Park City, Utah, Sundance has chosen 16 films in its dramatic competition for American fictional films, including director Geoff Haley’s “The Last Word,” starring Ryder, Wes Bentley and Ray Romano in a romance about a reclusive writer who crafts suicide notes for other people.
Finally! I found the beautiful Vogue photoshoot in high quality, and added to the gallery. There’s one picture new to me.
Also, Noni attented last November 02 the special screening of “Into The Wild”, in LA, with a live performance by Eddie Vedder. Will let you know if I found any hq image.
Photoshoots: Set 30
Appearances: Into the Wild Special Screening
Variety: One sure sign it’s the season of kudos contenders: The entire premiere audience sits through the credits.
Summer films traditionally end with a manic race to the buffet, but the crowd at Tuesday’s DGA launch remained seated after the emotional ending of “Into the Wild.”
“When they sat through the credits,” said producer Art Linson, “I cried.”
Producer William Pohlad said the screening at the Telluride fest was better as the crowd saw the film outdoors and sat through a rainstorm. “One of the coolest sights I’ve ever seen,” he said.
It was an older — by Hollywood standards — and serious crowd at the DGA that included Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, Winona Ryder, Mark Canton, Amy Heckerling, Dennis Hopper and Cameron Crowe.
Before the screening began, helmer Sean Penn told the aud, “One thing you get out of opening your mouth a lot is you learn what you want to say. The movie you see tonight is what I want to say.”
