Winona Ryder and David Harbour share deep bonds on the set of ‘Stranger Things’

LA Times published an amazing interview with Winona and David Harbour (to please our #Jopper hearts!), alongside a pretty portrait, which you can find in our gallery. Hopefully more will be released later. Check below the interview, as well.

Sitting inside the Dolby Theatre’s lounge shortly before a PaleyFest panel for “Stranger Things,” Winona Ryder hears the roar of the not-so-distant crowd and she’s a little confused.

What is that?” Ryder asks David Harbour.

“It’s the cast of ‘The Wire,’ Winona,” Harbour teases, as it should be self-evident, since they’re about an hour from taking the stage with their “Stranger Things” cast mates, what all the hubbub is about.

I went to the PaleyFest event for ‘The Wire,’” Ryder replies, ignoring him. “And I was in the audience, kind of going crazy like that. I mean, I got to meet Bunk …” and here Ryder, as she will, veers off into a bit of a beautiful tangent about the actor Wendell Pierce, who played Det. William “The Bunk” Moreland on David Simon’s celebrated series before circling back to the screaming fans unleashing an explosive clamor upon the young cast members of “Stranger Things.

I didn’t even think about boys until I was 16,” Ryder tells Harbour. “When I was 12, boys were the last thing on my mind.” She pauses, frowning. “I worry about them. It’s overwhelming. You think it’s going to last forever. There has always been this false narrative that if you’re an actor, fame comes with the territory and you have to relinquish everything. I remember when all that mattered was that you were in a good movie. That sounds ridiculous today.

Today, Ryder and Harbour are the adults in the room, anchoring the sideways secrets of “Stranger Things’” Upside Down world with wrenching, emotional performances. Their characters — Harbour’s police chief Jim Hopper and Ryder’s single mother Joyce Byers — have a history that encompasses the past (they dated in high school), the present (Hopper repeatedly helps rescue Joyce’s luckless son, Will) and, undoubtedly, the future. Their on-screen chemistry has turned Joyce and Hopper into one of television’s most shipped pairs (#Jopper), a designation they both relish.

“I’m so hungry to work with Winona because she’s willing to cut me and be cut and we’ll bleed together,” Harbour says. “And that’s a rare thing.”

‘Destination Wedding’ New Trailer

The first trailer for Destination Wedding, reuniting Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder, was released earlier today.

Director and writer Victor Levin tells PEOPLE he was just as excited as everyone else to get these two back together.

“As a fan, I have such longstanding love for both of them and for their work, so it feels really good to see them together again,” Levin says. “And as a filmmaker, I have the benefit of their having known each other for so long. They have superb natural chemistry together, which is so important for a love story.”

Ryder’s Lindsay and Reeves’ Frank arrive at a destination wedding only to discover they’re the guests no one knows where to put, and are therefore stuck together. Though they hate each other at first, the pessimistic duo start to bond throughout the days-long affair.

Keanu and Winona are stars for a reason: they have huge talent and skill, and they work very hard,” Levin says. But they also keep it fun. They rehearsed their dialogue together, helped each other, made everybody laugh — they were delightful. They are the movie. It’s about their characters and the healing power of love and laughter.”

Destination Wedding hits theaters August 24.

Winona Ryder and ‘Stranger Things’ Cast at Paleyfest LA

Winona Ryder and ‘Stranger Things’ Cast at Paleyfest LA

Winona Ryder and the cast of Stranger Things attended this Sunday (25) in LA the show’s panel at the PaleyFest.

Executive producer Shawn Levy teased at the red carpet about the new season, and what we can expect:

“Season 3 is set in the summer, so right out of the gate that’s a big difference. The first two seasons were very much school-based. This is that time of year where it’s not about school, it’s about the swimming pool and campfires and parades and Fourth of July and fireworks, so there’s kind of a poppy fun to Season 3 that’s really enjoyable before things inevitably turn super dark.”

During the panel, more was discussed about what to expect on S3. Eleven (Millie Bobbie Brown) and Mike (Finn Wolfhard), and Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) and Max (Sadie Sink), respectively, would all be couples at the beginning of the season. Also, the 1985 film Back to the Future will be a reference in the new season.

During the panel, the cast discussed their on-set bonding and the most challenging aspects of the series for them. Winona Ryder, who plays Joyce, kicked off the conversation by revealing that when she was in a room with two of her crushes growing up, including moderator Wil Wheaton (an actor in Stand By Me) and her co-star on Stranger Things season two, Sean Astin, who plays her boyfriend.

If you got to see this episode just now, you can see that I got to enjoy that,” Astin joked. (In the episode screened, it is revealed that Ryder and Astin’s character are a couple.)

Winona also said that the most challenging part for her was playing a woman whose son is in constant peril. “Charlie [Heaton] and I had one scene where I wasn’t a basket case and then right off the bat, it was my worst nightmare,” she said. She added that Heaton, who plays her son, sometimes distracted her with “the accesses he has to his emotions.”

Winona attends SAG Awards

Did you hear a “finally!“? Yeah, that was me, last night, when Winona showed up at the red carpet of the SAG Awards! Stranger Things, Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour was nominated but unlikely last year, they didn’t get the award for Best Drama Ensemble (that went to This Is Us).

You can check pics from last night in our gallery. Enjoy!

Full L’Oreal Paris Elvive Commercial

As we previously announced, they aired last night during the Golden Globes the new L’Oreal Paris commercial, and you can now watch it below:

Now a personal opinion: it’s always amazing to see Winona doing new projects. I hope more and more we can see her face around, because new projects means her in spotlight. But I am honestly tired of this “comeback” headline.
We’ve hearing it for 10 years already. Since she was cast in The Informers, and that was in 2008, we’re reading about her comeback. It’s enough, guys, she didn’t go anywhere and is working non stop on cinema and tv since then.

Winona Ryder Is the Newest Face Of L’Oréal Paris

America loves a comeback—or at least L’Oréal Paris is betting it does in an ad from McCann breaking on Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards on NBC. Winona Ryder has been enlisted to pitch Elvive hair-care products, which are all about helping damaged hair, and a faltering brand, stage a comeback. Watch it:
