‘Stranger Things’ scores EMMY nomination!

Thursday, Jul 13, 2017

The 69th annual Emmy Awards were announced today and as we was expecting (and hoping), Stranger Things scored a Best Drama nod alongside other newcomers as Westworld, The Crown, This Is Us and Handmaid’s Tale. They all will compete against veterans House of Cards and Better Call Saul.

Stranger Things also picked up an impressive 18 nominations, including Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series and Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series. Milly Bobby Brown received a very deserved nod as Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, David Harbour as Supporting Actor in a Drama Series and Shannon Purser, who plays the fan favorite Barb, received an Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series. While we’re rolling eyes for the lack of Winona in this list, we’re really happy for all the Emmy love for Stranger Things.

The Emmy Awards, hosted by Stephen Colbert, will air live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, Sept. 17 at 5 p.m. PT. on CBS.

  1. “Twitter pointed out that Winona Ryder of Stranger Things did not receive a nomination but Shannon Purser, who played Barb on the show received a nod, despite appearing briefly in just five episodes.
“How did Winona Ryder get snubbed but Barb got nominated, she was in the show for 3 minutes,” a Twitter user wrote.”

How did Winona NOT receive an Emmy nomination after her Stella performance in “Stranger Things”?…She played an incredibly convincing part as, Joyce Byers, a grieving mother after her young son ,Will (Noah Schnapp), vanishes….I just can’t believe it!!

I just have to ask the question….What does Winona have to do, to be recognised for the Wonderful performances that she consistently gives?…I’m obviously and incredibly disappointed for Winona.
