Story of Al-Anon founder has powerful moments

In 1989, the Hallmark Hall of Fame television series told the story of the man who co-founded Alcoholics Anonymous. James Woods won an Emmy playing Bill Wilson in “My Name Is Bill W.” JoBeth Williams played his long-suffering wife, Lois, and James Garner was AA co-founder “Dr. Bob” Smith.

  1. This is a right kind of project for a very talented actress like Ms. Winona Ryder! Her skills are not to be wasted… She is one of the most treasured talent the Hollywood ever had!!!

  2. I think what she is doing is Great ! Been there , done that , but with parents, I know what it’s like to live with alcoholic’s !I want to see the movie.

  3. Very well done. This film was beautiful and important on many levels.
Somehow I have always felt Winona has been this timeless success.
And that secret just may be in her happy confident smile – the same one she’s always had from the very beginning.

    Yep, yep.

But I just have to ask one seemingly pointless qeustion: If love ever is not enough, then what is, I ask you? (Hey now, me thinks  is all there truly can be … to be enough.)

    Be good, be great. (:^)

  4. @M…Mantry, “When Love is Not Enough” then, faith in God will be enough to overcome everything. 😀

  5. I’m so happy to get my Winona fix, I’m tellin’ you. Now the wait is on for “Black Swan”, “Stay Cool”, and “Cheaters”. Cheers!
