Winona join Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan

Monday, Nov 9, 2009

SlashFilm has announced that Vincent Cassel, Winona Ryder, and Barbara Hershey have all joined the cast of Black Swan. The film stars Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis as rival ballet dancers at a dance school. Ryder plays Beth, who is a friend of Portman’s character and the lead in all of the school’s productions. She’s nearing the end of her career, so all of other dancers are aiming to take her place as Odette, the Swan Queen, in the next big ballet: Swan Lake. Cassel will play the handsome but sinister Yevna, director of the new stage production.

Shooting on Black Swan is scheduled to start in just a few weeks in New York City.

I’ve been working on a poster for a dream movie I have for Winona, Natalie and Keira, it’s called VERSION, and they all play the same character but the audience have to guess which actress they are watching. I will post the posters here one of these days. But this news is amazing!!!! Can’t wait. GO WINONA AND NATALIE.

  4. maybe she must just want to do it her way,i still to wish they would recognize her even from her older movies..man they really missed didnt they????when i watch her im mezmerized..

  5. that sounds really great and interresting!!
when it is for cbs, it is a television-production, isn`t it?
i only can hope it will be shown in germany one day, too!!!

ok, it is not a leading role, but i`m happy she gets parts at all!
it`s better seeing her in supporting roles than seeing her acting no more!
and maybe she doesn`t care about. maybe she`s happy with such “little” roles- roles she wants to act, because her heart tells her so.
maybe she`s happy with not standing so much in public anymore.
    ( sorry when i make mistakes, i`m not a native speaker )

i wish her all the best!
