As US specialty buyers prepare for the world premiere of Rebecca Miller’s official selection comedy drama The Private Lives Of Pippa Lee on February 9, IM Global Acclaim has reported strong international sales.
Icon has taken rights for the UK, Australia and New Zealand, Tri Pictures has acquired in Spain, CDI in Italy, CP Digital in Russia, Playarte in Brazil, RCV in the Benelux, Ablo for Eastern Europe, Forum in Israel and Maple in Canada.
In total 26 territories have pre-sold on the picture, based on Miller’s own novel about a former wild child whose serene existence is threatened after her elderly husband has an affair.
Robin Wright Penn, Keanu Reeves, Alan Arkin, Julianne Moore, Winona Ryder, Blake Lively, Maria Bello and Monica Bellucci star. Brad Pitt’s Plan B produced.
“The buzz is already out there on the movie and the pre-sales tally is reassuring,” IM Global CEO Stuart Ford said. “Hopefully we’ll finish the job after the film screens here in Berlin. It deserves this kind of large scale platform.”
