I think everyone remember “Lucas”, that cute 1986 movie starring Winona, Charlie Sheen and… Corey Haim.
The ‘poster guy’ (9 between 10 teenagers at 80′s had his posters on the wall), star of “The Lost Boys” (one of my favorite movies all time!) was found dead this morning, after an accidental overdose. He was 38.

SlashFilm has announced that Vincent Cassel, Winona Ryder, and Barbara Hershey have all joined the cast of Black Swan. The film stars Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis as rival ballet dancers at a dance school. Ryder plays Beth, who is a friend of Portman’s character and the lead in all of the school’s productions. She’s nearing the end of her career, so all of other dancers are aiming to take her place as Odette, the Swan Queen, in the next big ballet: Swan Lake. Cassel will play the handsome but sinister Yevna, director of the new stage production.

Shooting on Black Swan is scheduled to start in just a few weeks in New York City.

A hugely expensive bracelet on loan to Winona Ryder has gone missing in Spain, but it’s Winona who feels like the victim.

Here’s the lowdown. Winona was in Madrid Sunday for a Marie Claire event. Marie Claire had given Winona a Bulgari bracelet and a ring to wear, worth $125,000. She also got a dress, shoes and some other stuff to wear to the shindig.

After Winona left Madrid, the bracelet and ring turned up missing. There’s a report in a French magazine saying Winona claimed she went to the front desk at the hotel and gave the jewelry to the front desk, but the surveillance cam doesn’t show her doing that. The intimation — Winona stole the bling.

In fact, we know what happened. The morning after the event, around 6:00 AM, Winona checked out of the hotel. No one from Marie Claire was around to collect the stuff, so she left everything in her hotel room.

Our sources confirm the bracelet and ring did indeed turn up missing — the dress and other stuff weren’t taken. We’re told Winona never said she had taken the jewels to the front desk, and whoever planted the story may be covering up for someone who had access to the room after she left.

So far, Winona has not been contacted by the police.

According to this publication, Ryder is thought to have collapsed twice on board the transatlantic BA flight after taking too many Xantax pills for anxiety. She is known to be afraid of flying and it is suggested she took the tranquilisers to calm her nerves.

She was taken to Hillingdon hospital, in West London, soon after arriving in England just after noon. Although her publicist refused to confirm the nature of the star’s illness last night, she said her client was discharged an hour later ‘in good health’.

Mara Buxbaum said: ‘She did fall ill on a plane and as a precautionary measure they took her to hospital.

‘She was there for an hour. She’s in good health. There’s no drama.’

We hope Winona gets well soon, and I hope she go to Spain, to receive her prize that she really deserves.

A spokesman for Hillingdon Hospital in Uxbridge, west London, said the 37-year-old was treated by medics directly off the plane at Heathrow Airport.

A spokesman for British Airways said: “The captain of BA282, which was travelling from LA to Heathrow, requested a priority landing as a female passenger required medical attention.

“The passenger was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The plane touched down shortly before noon UK time.

BA also said their crew looked after her as much as they could whilst on board, and passenger service staff accompanied her to hospital.

Actress Winona Ryder was taken to hospital on Wednesday after falling ill on a flight from Los Angeles to London, but her spokeswoman called it a “precautionary measure” and she was quickly discharged.

The 37-year-old star was taken to Hillingdon Hospital in west London, according to British media.

“She did fall ill on a flight and as a precautionary measure, was taken to a hospital,” said a spokeswoman for Ryder. “She was there maybe an hour and was released. The bottom line is she is in good health.”

Claire Danes, Michelle Williams, Winona Ryder and other Hollywood stars will feature in a new documentary about Australian singer Ben Lee.

Titled Ben Lee: Catch My Disease, the feature-length documentary paints an intimate portrait of the 30-year-old star who recorded his first album at age 14.

Lee is famous for hits like We’re All in This Together, Catch My Disease and Cigarettes Will Kill You, and has won several ARIA Awards.

The project, which has been seven years in the making, is by acclaimed documentary and short film director Amiel Courtin-Wilson, who has made video clips for bands like Gelbison, The Avalanches and Joel Turner.

The documentary is about pop music, spirituality, fame, family and celebrity, and includes archival, performance and interview footage with Lee and many of his famous friends, such as former girlfriend Danes.

It has received funding from the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) Premiere Fund, and will have its first Australian screening at MIFF next year. [Source]

Short films directed by Kate Hudson and Kirsten Dunst, and new projects featuring Jessica Biel, Dana Delany, Winona Ryder, Rainn Wilson, David Arquette will highlight the 14th annual Palm Springs International ShortFest Aug. 21-27 at the Camelot Theatres in Palm Springs.

The festival, featuring 2,700 films on screen and in its marketplace, has been called “the Sundance of short film festivals” because of its appeal to the U.S. film industry.

Dunst’s directorial project, “Welcome,” stars Winona Ryder. The festival will open at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 22 with a screening of award-winning live-action and animated films including “Life’s Hard” from Romania; “Manon on the Asphalt” (France), and “Sikumi (On the Ice)” (U.S.).

Films featuring Winona Ryder, Nick Nolte, Anjelica Huston and Paul Giamatti will be among those competing for top honors at the Sundance Film Festival.

The lineup announced Tuesday for Sundance, the main U.S. showcase for independent film, also included documentaries on writer Hunter S. Thompson, musician Patti Smith and filmmakers Roman Polanski and Derek Jarman.

Taking place Jan. 17-27 in Park City, Utah, Sundance has chosen 16 films in its dramatic competition for American fictional films, including director Geoff Haley’s “The Last Word,” starring Ryder, Wes Bentley and Ray Romano in a romance about a reclusive writer who crafts suicide notes for other people.
