‘Destination Wedding’ New Trailer

Thursday, May 17, 2018

The first trailer for Destination Wedding, reuniting Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder, was released earlier today.

Director and writer Victor Levin tells PEOPLE he was just as excited as everyone else to get these two back together.

“As a fan, I have such longstanding love for both of them and for their work, so it feels really good to see them together again,” Levin says. “And as a filmmaker, I have the benefit of their having known each other for so long. They have superb natural chemistry together, which is so important for a love story.”

Ryder’s Lindsay and Reeves’ Frank arrive at a destination wedding only to discover they’re the guests no one knows where to put, and are therefore stuck together. Though they hate each other at first, the pessimistic duo start to bond throughout the days-long affair.

Keanu and Winona are stars for a reason: they have huge talent and skill, and they work very hard,” Levin says. But they also keep it fun. They rehearsed their dialogue together, helped each other, made everybody laugh — they were delightful. They are the movie. It’s about their characters and the healing power of love and laughter.”

Destination Wedding hits theaters August 24.

Winona Ryder and ‘Stranger Things’ Cast at Paleyfest LA

Winona Ryder and ‘Stranger Things’ Cast at Paleyfest LA

Winona Ryder and the cast of Stranger Things attended this Sunday (25) in LA the show’s panel at the PaleyFest.

Executive producer Shawn Levy teased at the red carpet about the new season, and what we can expect:

“Season 3 is set in the summer, so right out of the gate that’s a big difference. The first two seasons were very much school-based. This is that time of year where it’s not about school, it’s about the swimming pool and campfires and parades and Fourth of July and fireworks, so there’s kind of a poppy fun to Season 3 that’s really enjoyable before things inevitably turn super dark.”

During the panel, more was discussed about what to expect on S3. Eleven (Millie Bobbie Brown) and Mike (Finn Wolfhard), and Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) and Max (Sadie Sink), respectively, would all be couples at the beginning of the season. Also, the 1985 film Back to the Future will be a reference in the new season.

During the panel, the cast discussed their on-set bonding and the most challenging aspects of the series for them. Winona Ryder, who plays Joyce, kicked off the conversation by revealing that when she was in a room with two of her crushes growing up, including moderator Wil Wheaton (an actor in Stand By Me) and her co-star on Stranger Things season two, Sean Astin, who plays her boyfriend.

If you got to see this episode just now, you can see that I got to enjoy that,” Astin joked. (In the episode screened, it is revealed that Ryder and Astin’s character are a couple.)

Winona also said that the most challenging part for her was playing a woman whose son is in constant peril. “Charlie [Heaton] and I had one scene where I wasn’t a basket case and then right off the bat, it was my worst nightmare,” she said. She added that Heaton, who plays her son, sometimes distracted her with “the accesses he has to his emotions.”

As we previously announced, they aired last night during the Golden Globes the new L’Oreal Paris commercial, and you can now watch it below:

Now a personal opinion: it’s always amazing to see Winona doing new projects. I hope more and more we can see her face around, because new projects means her in spotlight. But I am honestly tired of this “comeback” headline.
We’ve hearing it for 10 years already. Since she was cast in The Informers, and that was in 2008, we’re reading about her comeback. It’s enough, guys, she didn’t go anywhere and is working non stop on cinema and tv since then.
