As we previously announced, they aired last night during the Golden Globes the new L’Oreal Paris commercial, and you can now watch it below:
Now a personal opinion: it’s always amazing to see Winona doing new projects. I hope more and more we can see her face around, because new projects means her in spotlight. But I am honestly tired of this “comeback” headline.
We’ve hearing it for 10 years already. Since she was cast in The Informers, and that was in 2008, we’re reading about her comeback. It’s enough, guys, she didn’t go anywhere and is working non stop on cinema and tv since then.
Earlier today the Stranger Things cast was reunited at the Harmony Gold theater for a Q&A to SAG-AFTRA members. The event was live broadcast via the official Facebook page (but due the automatic redirection, not all fans was able to watch it), but you can watch the full Q&A below.
Last night Winona was guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live, still promoting Stranger Things that was just renewed for its second season.
While talking about her pre-acting jobs, she talked about babysitting Tom Waits kids. Unknowingly.
When I was about 14, I went with my friend to babysit these kids and I didn’t know whose kids they were. And they were wonderful, they were little. And in walks Tom Waits, who is like my hero. They were Tom Waits’ kids. I remember he was doing a play at the time and he didn’t have the 20 bucks and so he gave me a T-shirt from Franks Wild Years … and I was thrilled, and literally I couldn’t speak.
Netflix released a new featurette for Stranger Things, in which Winona discusses her character, Joyce Byers.
“I know a lot of women like that, who are good people but they struggle,” Ryder said of her character.
“I like that there are sort of different story lines. You really don’t know what is around the corner or what is going to happen,” added Ryder. “It’s like putting the pieces of a puzzle together and it’s fun to watch.”
Executive producer Shawn Levy said Ryder fit the bill for the challenging role. “You need someone who can wretch up the emotional urgency and yet find layers and nuance and different sides of this character,” he said.
“I was grateful that they trusted that I could get to those places,” Ryder said.
“Stranger Things” is executive produced by Levy, the Duffer Brothers and Dan Cohen. It’s currently streaming worldwide on Netflix.
