Hollywood trio Kate Hudson, Kirsten Dunst and Rita Wilson have landed their second big break – this time behind the camera.

Each actress has directed a short film for Glamour magazine’s “Reel Moments” project, designed to empower women in the screen industry.

The annual scheme, sponsored by beauty giant Clinique, gave Hudson, Dunst and Wilson the chance to helm the three movies – which was released today.

They recruited famous friends – and, in Hudson’s case, family – to appear in the films, which are based on stories submitted by winning Glamour readers.

The theme of this year’s competition was “happiness,” in order to promote Clinique’s best-selling “Happy” perfume.

Wilson’s film, “The Trap,” stars Jeanne Tripplehorn, while Dunst’s modern-day ghost story, “Welcome,” features Winona Ryder.

Hudson secured her mom Goldie Hawn’s long-term partner, Kurt Russell, for her movie, “Cutlass,” as well as Dakota Fanning, Virginia Madsen and Chevy Chase.

Clinique customers can pick up a free CD of “The Trap” at in-store beauty counters. All three films will screen, starting today, on glamourreelmoments.com and clinique.com.

Their directorial debuts were shown at more than 25 film festivals, including Berlin and Toronto.
